An years old novel mass movement led by eminent social reformer Sri. Guru Vagbadananda in the village of Uralungal in Kozhikode has now become one of the most preferred co operative societies of Kerala which is known as Uralungal Labour Contract Co Operative Society (ULCCS). ULCCS was an amalgamation of skilled workers, who lost their jobs due to the caste barrier that prevailed in the 20th century.

ULCCS was an amalgamation of skilled workers, who lost their jobs due to the caste barrier that prevailed in the 20th century. They played a crucial role in solving the unemployment of the region & in developing the infrastructure in the independent India. Owing to their endeavor of development & reforms the society underwent sea changes. ULCCS started undertaking civil construction work for development of roads, bridges and allied infrastructure in North Kerala region.

ULCCS LTD with its headquarters in Madappally, Vatakara has grown from strength to strength. Today it is as an ISO 9001:2008 certified organization and the biggest labour contract Society providing direct employment to more than 2000 workers from rural areas and also supporting 5000 families indirectly. The Objective of the society is to create an environment where the professional talent is recognized and nurtured for the growth of the region.
